Convention will bring together two grand ideas in the great city of Chicago. Chicago is the birthplace of the "Great Books of the Western World" project that sought to promote the learning of great ideas as part of being an educated person. Chicago is also known as "the city that works."
Inspired by these associations, the CCAR Convention will focus on engaging our intellects by grappling with the big ideas and challenging questions of life. The Convention will also pay attention to improving our skills for our day to day work as rabbis. Both of these ideas will inform one another through the study of texts, the presentations of informed and passionate speakers, communal worship and opportunities for personal connection and exchange with colleagues.
