The CCAR Convention spiritually nourishes and inspires us for the year ahead. It brings us together in chevruta, uniting our community, regardless of where we work and live. In being together, we have the opportunity to meet new colleagues, reconnect with friends, and deepen our relationships with each other.
We strive to keep Convention as affordable as possible for all members and to give scholarships for colleagues otherwise unable to attend. Fees do not cover the real costs of Convention and its rich offerings, and last year many of you generously partnered with us, providing donations necessary to underwrite our programs. We invite you to invest in our Convention at the same or higher level in 2019. Funds raised will help underwrite and subvent Convention and will provide scholarships so that we can keep registration costs at the same rate that we have since early 2002.
For 2019’s Convention, we will celebrate the 130th birthday of the CCAR and the 200th birthday of Isaac Mayer Wise by gathering in Cincinnati, OH. In Cincinnati, birthplace of the Reform Movement, we will learn from leading thinkers and teachers, including Bryan Stevenson, founder of the Equal Justice Initiative, and Susannah Heschel. We will spend a day of in-depth Torah Lishmah at the HUC-JIR campus and enhance our skills through professional development workshops. At Convention, we will have an opportunity to learn about the CCAR’s work addressing ongoing challenges facing the Reform rabbinate, the Jewish community, and the wider world, and will mark significant transitions in the CCAR leadership.
Gifts at the sponsorship level underwrite a program. Gifts under sponsorship level can be designated to support certain programs or events, as well as to honor colleagues. By partnering with us to support or sponsor an event, program, meal, or reception, you help keep Convention affordable for colleagues and enable us to develop a professionally enriching, intellectually stimulating, and spiritually meaningful annual Convention for our members.
We are very grateful for your generosity, which will be acknowledged in the Convention program booklet, on the Convention website, and on the Convention app.
