Continuing Rabbinic Education

CCAR understands Torah study and professional development to be pillars of its Mission to provide excellence in rabbinic leadership and to strengthen the Jewish community. Each CCAR lifelong learning event–-whether in-person seminar or webinar, one hour or multi-day, instrumental skill based or text oriented-–is grounded in Torah or prayer. These programs advance competencies in Leadership, Professional Skills, Organizational Management and Growth, and Communications Systems.

The CCAR is excited to present the 2019-2021 Continuing Rabbinic Education program guide to our members.  Our program guide contains robust, diverse, and in-depth educational opportunities for all rabbis no matter what setting you work in. You will find a wide variety of topics that strengthen our rabbinates, our personal lives, and our connections to each other. Our in-person seminars, webinars, leadership travel, and Convention will provide in-depth Torah study, enhance your skills in areas such as supervision and fundraising, help guide your social justice work, and elevate your rabbinate through meaningful ethics education.

We now offer many more interactive opportunities for participants in our webinars in order to create a deeper connection amongst our members. Watch in our Weekly Update and Facebook group as registration information becomes available.

For many years the CCAR has offered a robust, in-depth program of learning for rabbis to enhance rabbinic skills, engage with text and strengthen our leadership. In recognition of the importance of on-going learning and growth, the CCAR membership overwhelmingly approved a Continuing Rabbinic Education requirement at the 2018 CCAR Convention. In response to some of your questions, we are providing an FAQ to clarify some of the details about this program to clarify some of the details about this program.

As part of our new Continuing Education Requirement, each member of the CCAR is asked annually to read the CCAR Code of Ethics. You were given the opportunity to indicate that you had read the code when you submitted your 2020-2021 dues form. If you did NOT indicate on your dues form that you have read the code, please take a few minutes to read the Ethics Code and indicate that you have done so here.
