Rabbi As Supervisor: Essential Skills You Don’t Learn in Seminary 2022-2023

Rabbis are often responsible for not only managing their own performance, but are also expected to achieve results through others. This online intensive is applicable to rabbis in all settings with supervisory responsibilities. Each module stands alone and you may register for any number of them. A certificate of supervision is granted only for the completion of all four modules.

Each module requires a six-hour commitment, including: pre-assigned readings, participation in a three-hour learning session, small group work after each class, and follow-up group session with the facilitator.

“I can point to my participation in Larry Dressler’s course as one of the fundamental pieces of training to my effective rabbinate. . . . Every rabbi—no matter the stage in their career or place of employment —could benefit tremendously from this course.”

“After 20 years in the congregational rabbinate, I learned how I have tried to pastor my staff and not hold us accountable and engage in the conversations that needed to be had. It was eye-opening and I am very grateful to the CCAR and Larry Dressler for offering this program.”

“I’ve already instituted things that I learned from Larry”
