Aging

Adopted by the CCAR at the 100th Annual Convention of

the Central Conference of American Rabbis

Cincinnati, Ohio June, 1989

WHEREAS in 1986 the Central Conference of American Rabbis Committee on Aging recommended

a broad course of study and action, as reported in the 1986 Yearbook

, and

WHEREAS the needs of the well elderly and the frail elderly are growing as the American

and American Jewish populations continue to age, therefore

BE IT RESOLVED that the CCAR Committee on Aging undertake immediate study and appropriate

action to address the needs of our aging Reform Jewish population of North America,

and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Union of American Hebrew Congregations, Hebrew Union

College-Jewish Institute of Religion, and the CCAR be urged to consider recruiting

personnel with Jewish gerontological expertise.
