    About Us

The Central Conference of American Rabbis is the Reform Rabbinic leadership organization. The CCAR enriches and strengthens the Jewish community by fostering excellence in the Reform Rabbis who lead it, in whatever setting they serve, and through the resources and publications we provide the Jewish community. CCAR members lead the Reform Movement on important spiritual, social, cultural and human rights issues, at the same time the CCAR creates and sustains the Judaism of tomorrow.

The Sacred Struggle

Jewish Responses to Trauma

A deeply moving exploration of how Jewish wisdom can help us navigate life’s most difficult moments.

Available at sacredstruggle.ccarpress.org

Like the ancient rabbis before us and the priests before them, we rise to the moment, because this is the moment to which we have been called. But we can't do this alone. We need to turn to our colleagues with the vulnerable and searching questions of the heart, to help us clarify our direction. We need to discover our strength in offering a generous hand to lift one another up to this moment. Even rabbis need a rabbi.
