Resolution Adopted by the CCAR
Health Care
Adopted by the CCAR at the 87th Annual Convention of
the Central Conference of American Rabbis
1976
WHEREAS our tradition teaches concern for all people, especially the poor and the
elderly, and
WHEREAS all Americans should have the right to adequate health care, and
WHEREAS the high cost of medical care makes it virtually impossible for large segments
of our population to receive it,
BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED that we call on Congress to enact a comprehensive national
health insurance program such as the Kennedy-Corman bill to cover prevention, treatment
and rehabilitation in all areas of health care.
