MEMORIAL DAY

Digests of resolutions adopted by the

Central Conference of American Rabbis

between 1889 and 1974

1. Whereas, a call has been sent out for an international Memorial Day to be

held

in August, as an expression of deep sympathy with the sorrow of the suffering

millions

in the war zones and as an opportunity for the collection of funds, be it

resolved,

that the Central Conference of American Rabbis endorse this suggestion of the

Federal

Council of Churches of Christ in America. (1916, p. 165)
