American Rabbis

Eleanor R. Schwartz, a devoted and fiercely

committed Reform Jew is on the eve of

her retirement, following more than forty years of faithful

service to Reform Judaism.

Ellie

was one of the architects of our magnificent affiliate, NFTY, the

North American Federation of Temple

Youth.        

For thirty-two years Ellie has served and

led the National Federation of Temple Sisterhoods

with intelligence, dedication, knowledge and caring

concern.

THEREFORE, the Central

Conference of American Rabbis joins the Union of American Hebrew

Congregations in expressing its

profound appreciation and full-hearted commendation

to Eleanor R. Schwartz for her vision as a pioneer

of Reform Judaism and for her

outstanding leadership of the women of Reform

Judaism.        

In her honor, the Central Conference of

American Rabbis donates 250 copies of Gates of Prayer for

Shabbat

to NFTS.
