Voter Registration

Resolution Adopted by the CCAR

Voter Registration

Adpoted by the 103rd Annual Convention of

the

Central Conference of American Rabbis

San Antonio, Texas, April,

1992

In response to the alarming

decline in registration of American voters and specifically

Jewish voters, the Central Conference of

American Rabbis supports efforts to reverse

the trend of low voter turnout that has plagued

recent elections, and threatens to undermine the democratic

process.

THEREFORE LET IT BE

RESOLVED, that we

1. Urge every

congregation to undertake an effective voter registration campaign to

their members to register and vote,

along with too many Americans who are not registered.

2. We further urge that energies be focused

on mobilizing student-age eligible voters,

who are disproportionately not registered to vote.
