Central Conference of American Rabbis Urges Rejection of Federal Tax Bill

The Central Conference of American Rabbis strongly opposes the tax bill currently before the United States Congress.

Mindful that Torah requires that those with the greatest wealth provide the largest share of support to the community, Reform rabbis oppose a bill that offers the most significant tax cut to the wealthiest among us.

Mindful that our Jewish tradition charges the community to assure that all have access to health care, Reform rabbis object to a bill that would cause millions of our fellow citizens to lose their health insurance.

Mindful that God created us as stewards of creation, Reform rabbis oppose a bill that would facilitate drilling for fossil fuels in the environmentally-sensitive Alaska Natural Wildlife Reserve.

We urge all of our representatives in Washington to defeat this immoral and harmful tax proposal.
